I really love the monochromatic look of this page and the symbolism is great. I'm glad you are lucky enough to have such a great guy. Your journaling is really heartfelt!
Wow! This is amazing I love your design and the beautiful sentiment behind it...what cartridge did you use...I haven't pulled out my cricut in a long time but that city scene is fantastic!

Christine, you did an amazing job with this challenge! I love watching you grow as an artist and step outside your comfort zone. First of all that is a beautiful photo of Charles-love that pop of red! Love your stitching, and those grunge board altered stars! FAV!
This is my layout created for the latest "Stalker" challenge over at Scraps of Darkness. The challenge was to scrap someone or something that was there for you during a difficult time in your life. I chose to scrap Charles. The journaling says it all. "I met Charles at a time in my life when I was headed down the wrong road and in a very dark spot. Through sharing his experiences, enthusiasm, music and love, he changed and saved my life." "The Wrong Way" is actually a title of one of Charles' songs. The city is symbolic and represents Dallas TX where Charles has a lived a good portion of his life. The stars and moon represent guidance from him during a very dark period in my life.
As required by the challenge, I hand stitched on this layout around the black center. The city scene was cut from my cricut and I sparkled it out with some stickles glitter glue (also required of the challenge). I embossed the word "wrong" and inked the edges to give it more dimension. The stars are grunge board and altered using crackle paint, ink and stickles.
I LOVE this photo of Charles. It was captured during the summer of 2010. He was jammin on his Strat and I was taking various shots. Love how this pic came out.
I used the Scraps of Darkness June Kit which featured the Zooology line by Bo Bunny. MelindaK puts together some super fabulous kits over there. Love Scraps of Darkness!
