Your page is great. Love the quote, and I love how you told us the story that goes with the picture. I like the antique look of the picture too it really has a mood to it. Love it.
I think your first try was quite a success! The distressed/grunge twist made me very nervous as well. I like the feel of this page-alone but not alone.
This is the 2ND VERSION (DIDNT LIKE THE WAY THE 1ST ONE CAME OUT AFTER LOOKING AT IT FOR THE PAST WEEK SO I DID IT OVER) of my 1st all distressed/grunge lo Ive done, Ive been wanting to try it... dont know if I really like the way it turned out though (I DO, REALLY LIKE THIS VERSION... THOUGH I THINK IM GOING TO GO BACK AGAIN TO CRUMPLE THE MIDDLE RED PAPER).
The picture is a pic taken in the park when me, the sweetie, and our dog-child went for a walk. usually they talk these walk as father-daughter time (lol) but this day he insisted I go since we had had a disagreement, he thought going for a walk would soothe things over. At first I was upset that I even joined because they were walking to fast and leaving me (I hate walking) but then I slowed down and enjoyed the view from the back. I loved the way they were walking side by side in unison w/ both their heads down- it was adorable! so I snapped this shot then walked a lil faster to join the unison ;-)
Im entering it in the ***August Quote Challenge... as soon as I saw the quote (we wander for distractin but we travel for fulfillment) I thought of this picture!
