A little at a time will get it all done. Every time I thought I got through dh's and my things my mom in law would find another box of his stuff at her house lol. Since they moved, that shouldn't happen anymore...
ooooh LOTS of work but probably VERY worth it. When my grandmother passed, mom & I packed up the house and ALL of it (with the exception of a few items I knew I wanted) went to Mom's house and into her storage room... My grandmother died in 1990 and the boxes still SIT. Mom's never even opened one. Guess what I get to do when i clean out her house one day. LOL
How neat that you found those letters. When my grandmother passed away we found a letter that my father had written her about my birth. My mom let me keep it. it is on of my most prized possessions. Sometimes I wonder about what will be left for my grandchildren to find.....with email there isn't always a hard copy laying around to be discovered.
Since taking this photo, I have gone through a few boxes and found a couple treasures already: a copy of a letter to the editor my grandfather wrote when he was 19 yrs old and in the Coast Guard, and a letter my Dad wrote to me after the birth of my DD nearly 24 years ago. This is why I can't just glance at a box of papers or files and toss them out - there are treasures hidden inside and I don't want to miss a single one...
