oh boy!!! LOL!!! Now the fun begins....next time he'll probably remember why he's on yellow!! Sorry YOU got so upset...My boys are 23 and 21 now... Once my oldest got into a fight, and didn't tell me. I found out when the other boy's father and son came walking down my driveway in that 2-step...I knew something was up. Andrew had been right in the backyard, now not to be in sight for anything. the man walked up, yelled at me how my son pummled his son and showed me the black eye on the child's face. I was soo embarassed. But it didn't make sense to me because Andrew had always been a lover, cuddler... not a fighter. I told the man, I knew nothing about it and would speak to my son and that we would walk down to their house later to straighten things out. There are always 2 sides to a story. I watched them leave and then yelled for my son to come into the house. He came in like a dog with his tail between his legs. He was about 10 at the time. I asked him what had happened, I wanted the truth striaght up, no BS. If he lied or told some flim flam story he would be worst off. My kids grew up guilty until they could prove thier innocense, in other words if they didn't start it they had nothing to hide. I didn't want to be a Mom saying , oh not my boy!! If it was in selfdefense I would understand. They have a right to stick up for themselves. But if they were just plain being mean or acting like a Bully then.... So anyway Andrew told me why he hit him and he had hit him hard enough to give the child a black eye and a small abrasion...We had moved in with my parents after my divorce. For reasons I'm not going to go into here, my children didn't have contact with their father. This child had gotten into a discussion with my son about his father not being around. He told him that he (Andrew) was probably the reason for his father's absense. SO Andrew popped him one! After our conversation of violence is not the way to take care of a problem, or anyway to handle a problem I told Andrew to go freshen up, that we were walking to this child's house and that he was going to apologize. Andrew didn't want any part of it. But I told him he had to be the bigger MAN, his actions were wrong. We walked to the house, told our side of the story. This boy's parents were flabagasted, they didn't know what to say. When Andrew stood up and extended his hand to their son and said I'm sorry, the father had to leave the room, he became so emotional. When he returned he thanked Andrew for being the bigger man and told him his son would never, ever talk to him like that again. He and his son were in for a BIG talk. After that the boys were best friends till they moved away.

OMG! Leave it to kids to stress you out. Hilarious story! I gotta say though, that the look on his face (which cracked me up by the way) made me think of Jack Nicholson in the movie The Shining :)
