What a wonderful set of pictures to have and the memories they hold, you are right cap gun hat and outfit was a must back in the day. It was safe and Innocent to play make-believe without being political. Fabulous choice for background paper.

I love your layering. The colors are so rich and pretty. I'm sure she is playing "Annie Oakley". Mounting this on a wood grain background was the best idea.
This is me at Yosemite National Park in 1949. I really loved my cap pistol! The hidden journaling reads:" The 1940s were a simpler, "kinder, gentler" time, when toy guns were fun; and we played cowboys and Indians without a thought of political correctness ."
