This is for the Dec/Feb Scrap your name Challenge. I think i just made the deadline. This was a fun layout.

I had a writing assignment for my AP Language class and we had to imitate Sandra Cisnero's famous writing from the novel House on Mango Street. The topic was our name. I got an A (yay) on the assignment and thought it would be perfect to have the journaling scrapped (: (Its a very informal writing piece--lots of fragments)

Journaling: I’ve seen it spelled A-I-M-E-E or A-M-I-E or A-Y-M-E but me, I’m simple. I spell it A-M-Y. My name is short. My name is easy. And my name is popular (or so my mom thinks).
My mom has a Vietnamese name. Hoa. In our language it means flower. It is meant to be said with eloquence and style. But when she came to America her name was just butchered one person at a time. Ho-AY, hhh-O-A, or HOE they would say. My mom just laughed but truthfully she was annoyed. So when it was time to name me she wanted something simple. Straightforward. Uncomplicated. Basic. Amy.
My name means beloved, greatly loved, dear to the heart. It fits me. My name is quiet and timid, like me. My name is passionate yet controlled, like me. My name is bold but mellow, like me. When said in a soft, low voice my name is sweet and gentle. When said in a screechy, whiny voice my name is aggravating. My name defines me. It unravels the layers that make me who I am and what I will become. Today, tomorrow, and tomorrow’s tomorrow, my name will unleash a story; a unique story that never ends.
AY-mee. I accept it, I embrace it, I love it!

sorry for the horribbleee pic. i was in a rush. lol.

TFL!!
