Very cool. Do you have a scrapbook of miscellanous things or what do you do with the LOs you do for challenges that maybe aren't part of a project you're working on?
ok.. ami... you certainly rocked this!!! I am not sure, could you not get the last few items Laura requested on here? LOLOLOLOL.... I love the angle of the "uke" I soo love those elephants too!! and that ladybug stamp... LOL.. well, there is a plus to letting people going before you!! LOL... GREAT AWESOME JOB!
Ok, how is this possible???? Can I make a challenge ANY harder? I cannot stump you, no matter how I try. You are one smart cookie - and talented, too, I might add! This is absolutely fantastic - right down to the eggshells, my friend! First of all, I LOVE the subject matter. I have never ever seen a layout about a ukelele!! I love all the tiny touches of this and that hidden everywhere - right down to the stitching!! The stamps, the music notes - perfect! It's too bad we can't use smileys in here or I'd be :faint:ing all over the place! Awesome work, girl!!
OMG I cannot believe you got that much stuff on this Layout without making it look cluttered. I love the colors and the fun feel of this LO. Great choice to use the "uke" as the subject...Very cute. Mindays right, you do ROCK!
WWWOOOOOWWWW, I can't believe you got all that on there and it looks great too. And what a great way to use those eggshells! LOVE the artsy pics too. Great job Ami, YOU ROCK.
This LO is for the Eiffel Tower Group M.E.T.A.L Challenge. We were challenged to use items starting with each of the letters in the word METAL. I tried to use as many items as possible that would be cohesive decoration and/or make sense with the subject of the LO.
I chose to use my husband's ukulele as the subject. He had taken these pictures to look kind of "artsy". I thought they were pretty cool, and I used my hobby (scrapbooking) to honor HIS hobby (playing the uke!). I included so many stamps because his ukulele came from Hawaii, so it traveled to a couple places before making its way here, and a lei because it came from Hawaii.
Here are my items/point values:
M-Material (the flower in the bottom left corner is cut from fabric/material) (5 points) M-Magenta (the word LOVE, the heart, and the lei at the bottom right are all shades of Magenta) (4 points) M-Musical Notes (down at the bottom right) (3 points) M-May (the circle stamp just above the envelope has a postmark dated MAY) (2 points)
E-Eggshells (yes, I used them! They are in the center of the fabric flower at the bottom left corner) (5 points) E-Elephants (three elephants are on the flap of the envelope, I was glad to use them because there is an awesome song that is predominantly ukulele called "Elephant Gun" by Beirut) (4 points) E-Envelope (behind the bottom picture, has elephants on the flap) (3 points) E-Eyelets (in the corners of my little journaling square at the top right corner) (1 point)
T-Tulle (piece of blue tulle between the two pics on the right side) (5 points) T-Tissue Paper (pink tissue paper at the bottom left corner under the flower) (4 points) T-Thread (black thread is sewn into the pink tissue paper and lace) (3 points) T-Transparent Item (piece of transparent plexi/plastic on top of my journaling square) (1 point)
A-Aluminum Foil (behind the heart at the top and also behind the orange asterisk near the bottom right) (5 points) A-Asterisk (on top of the foil on the right side) (3 points) A-Apple Green (the word "UKE" in the title) (1 point)
L-Lilac (one of the stamps near the 1st elephant is lilac) (5 points) L-Letter (title letters? Laura, does this count, or do you mean a letter like correspondence? Please deduct if you mean the latter.) (4 points) L-Ladybug (near the left middle side is a stamp with a ladybug on it) (3 points) L-Leaves (there are leaves in the pp, on the fabric flower, and on the lei) (2 points) L-Lace (at the top right corner under the journaling square, and at the bottom left corner on top of the pink tissue paper) (1 point)
10 points for spelling the word METAL with my items, for a total of 74 points.
