Don't know how I missed this one! I was AWOL for a while! This is wonderful. Love the contrast in the two photos and your design! The background paper is nice, but that center piece with the journaling, clocks, calendar, swirls and flowers is just awesome!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your heritage LOs!! You always do such an awesome job on them and this one is no exception!! Amazing photos and wonderful embellies pulled together just perfectly!!
I have alwasy loved reading the "saga" books that told of the young immigrant coming to America, following them through the trials and tribulations of their lives and in the end you see them as older and at the end of their lives, looking back at all they have been through; they are observing their great grandchildren growing up and contemplating how the times have changed.
I think that is why I am so intrigued by the contrast in these two photos. The first one had a handwritten note on the back that said "Dad and his first bunch of hogs" and "old windmill 1913". The second photo shows him standing in one of his fields in the late thirties. I don't know the real circumstances behind the second photo but in my minds eye, great grandpa Koehler has a look of pride and accomplishment as he surveys a lifetime of hard work.
