This windmill sits in a field near Beach, ND. At one time there were lots of windmills providing wateracross the plains. Now we use solar pumps or pipelines to bring water to livestock. Many farmers and ranchers hated to have to climb up and work on this tall things, many still do hate it. There are some well service guys who still work on them. My grandparents had a windmill that you could hear clanking away at night in the summer when the windows were open. It's a nice memory for me!
