lol.. how cute is that description! isnt it crazy just how much thought goes into one single LO???!!! my first page i was DREADING to start because i thought it would look like poop.. but i went for it anyway and i really got a hang of the whole "scrapbooking is fun" thing. and it really was.. the more pages i did... and more i did research on new techniques and what not the more i found myself getting better at my work and scrapbooking my memories got so much less of a headache! lol.. its suppose to b fun! just go with it.. i used to measure EVERYTHING just perfectly and do this and that to "fix" my pages.. but in the end no one but u sees the "imperfections" (they actually add character and spunk to your pages! who would have known????)
great job! :) i just love the photo matting with the brads.. cute touch!
Fantastic page---DONT GIVE UP!!! all of your hard work shows--sure doesnt look like your fist layout!! and all the handcutting you did--fantastic!! You have great talent my friend---dont fret over your pages too much--just put what you like --and remember--if you love it--and made it with love--then you have a masterpiece!!!
Melissa - this is FANTASTIC... I can't believe it's your FIRST :) Great job! I hope you're feeling a little less overwhelmed each time you complete something else and each time you visit scrapbook.com and the lovely ladies here. XO
Thank you so much!!!!! Everyone's feedback has been so awesome. I am feeling the motivation to start another. Thank you all soooooo much!!!!!!!! I just love the support on here, I am glad i found this site...
This is a terrific page and does not look like a first layout AT ALL. I can't believe all the things you did for your very first try like hand-coloring and shading letters, all that cut work and repurposing a price tag. Very clever. This is a wonderful fun page and has great use of color. Just wonderful. Don't fret that it took awhile to do your first layout. You will get faster with experience. There is a big learning curve in the beginning.
Love it! I love the price tag idea, neat! I also love the double frames, I'm going to try that. It will get easier for you and less time consuming, keep them coming. I need to take pics and upload layouts soon!
This is a great layout. Beautiful colors and great talent. I will tell you that my first layouts did NOT look like this! Keep up the great work and keep posting your work. We would love to see more!
Love the colors, and its so great that you did the letters yourself. They look great. I love the framing of the pics and the brads. I also like the ribbon on the side and top. Great job.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This is a great lo, you will be able to make another one. The more you make the faster you will get bc you will make less mistakes (when it comes to items with glue) Some scraper take all day to make one lo and just like you said they "preserve the moment." and that's what we do. And have a great Mother's Day "Aunt Day".
MY FIRST LAYOUT!!!! After three months of shopping, procrastinating, and indecision... In the pictures are my husband and my two nieces. I hand wrote, cut out and shaded the edges of the tittle letters, and the photo mounts. Also hand colored an ordinary price tag and put an eyelet in the little hole (wording on the tag: "The summer Matt met the girls... Aug. 08). The pictures arent the best the but they preserve the moment. I also hand drew and cut out my own water splatter. I used a few brads and ribbons just to experiment with it. I forgot to put my water splatter under the title and had to peel the letters off, some did not cone off so nicely and I had to redo them and I colored in the top of the bottom L over the spatter. How many hrs did it take to complete this lo? A LOT! Dont know when I am going to finish another.
