Susan Goetter!!!! This is amazing!!!! I love the way you did the scallops for the circle. (gunna have to steal that one) That's just soooooo creative!!! And those vellum flowers!!!! OMG! They are awesome. A fav for sure!!
I love all the little techniques you used on this beautiful layout. Love all the liquid pearl dots and the way you cut out each scallop to use as a border around a circle is inspired and I am going to try that one. I have a circle border punch but it sucks. Love the pps too (Urban Prairie?!) And I swear I was thinking of using my retro flower punch on velum and I LOVE how yours turned out with the stickles. Last but not least..Lovely photo!
Such a gorgeous page, and you have put such a lot of work into it. I love all the little pearlised 3D dots and the wonderful ...rub-ons? or whatever they are. Fabulous layout.
Simply precious. What a perfect picture! I just can't get over how you cut apart the border so it would go around the circle. Brilliant!!! You can bet I'll be stealing that idea!!! Love the whole layout! ~~Sharon
Wow this is gorgeous, love all the detailed work you did on this. Love the vellum flowers and great journaling - such precious memories for your granddaughter to look back on.
awww, your journaling is so sweet and truly delightful, Susan!! The amount of work you did here is amazing and very impressive! All your hard work paid off because this looks phenomenal!! The photo is just STUNNING!!! In my attempt to clean up my scrappy room lately I literally threw away most of my vellum - now I could kick myself because I love your vellum flowers - oh well - LOL Fave, for sure!
I'm glad you explained how you did that scallop around the half circle -- I was wondering how you did it on a curve!!! Brilliant idea!! LOVE what you did with the letters too. Beautiful photo of you and the little one Susan!
susan this is totally beautiful! love what you did here.. glad you shared the tip on how to create that lovely border on a circle.. was actually clueless and staring at that.. Gorgeous design!!!
Aren't grandaughters wonderful! I love to play with mine...we do a lot of coloring and dressing dolls. This lo is so beautiful...I'm going to lift it one of these days...love how you used that punch for lace...wonderful effect. I've been wanting to get those retro flower punches for awhile, but they are a 30 mile trip to get to them, which hampers my ambition somewhat...love the textured pen work too...need some of those on my list also...and how did you curl the vellum? Oh, and that is such a sweet picture!
THis is such a pretty page Susan!! I love the way you did the lacey edge around the circle, thanks for explaining how you did it....you're so sweet to share your ideas Fav for sure, love this!
Me and my DGD, Helen Grace in March 2008. The papers are BG Obscure. I cut a half-circle and then punched an edge strip with a Fiskars punch. I cut each scallop from the strip then placed them around the edge of the circle. The title letters are chipboard that I painted white and covered with crystal lacquer for a high gloss. I added pink and white 3D paint dots to the zigzag edge and doodled a stitched line. The pink scallop was cut with a 12" QK die and highlighted in white and then I added more 3D paint. The flowers are all made with the retro flower punches. I punched the blooms from vellum, added a little stickles to the edges, then curled the edges under. I added bling for my centers. The bling in the big flower was a clear crystal that I "painted" with my alcohol inks. Journaling is tucked behind the photos and reads:
Spending time with you is always fun. You have such a lively imagination. You could play with a tea set for hours! Sometimes, when it's just you and me, we do exactly that! You love to be my “waitress” and take my order, and you always ask, “Do you want sweet tea?” You are such a sweet little girl, and I love you very much. I hope when you get older that you remember the fun times we've had together.
