Your descriptions are so moving! You are a wonderful writer, and you convey your thoughts and emotions for these lovely animals so well. Another wonderful animal layout!
Great layout and great story- looked at quite a few pet layouts you made and they are always beautyfull, I love reading your stories they are very heartwarming and(or) interesting. You must be a big fan of animals. By the way, I also love making lo,s of mine or other.s pets as well as I love taking tons of pictures of them.
A wonderfully simple, straight to-the-point LO ~ it IS just right & leads one straight to the pups pic! We too (hub & I) have been there, done that... as many leaving comments here. I have found those times to be some of the most difficult in my lifetime!
Outstanding work! The Rainbow Bridge poem brings it to life for me. I feel your loss for I too have been there. Last Friday I lost one of my ten beloved dogs;Chris was seventeen years old, I will miss him for ever and ever. Dogs, our furry little people, do know how to love and forgive. They speak to us with their eyes. The pain from their loss never goes away, we just learn to live with it. Your description touches the heart. It reminds me of what I heard long ago, dogs leave their footprints in one's heart. xxxoooxxx
Your pages are fabulous and you stories are so intriging. I work for 6 vet and deal with this daily. Never easy and those are my those exactly. They always give more than they take. That says it all. I will remember this and share this line with our owners. It certainly makes me have a little more peace with this whole end of life issue for our pets. TFS
That quote is wonderful -- this is a gorgeous picture of Ed - and you did an amazing job with it. Your description is just heartbreaking - you have a way with words, my friend.
This is such a BEAUTIFUL LO and bittersweet story. I became teary-eyed while reading it. We've "been there", and done the scrapbook page, as well.....not easy!
After reading that glowing tribute to "Ed" I too love that dog. I also had a dog, Rambo, we had gotten from a friend. He was a well trained, German Shepard, who when we got him, didn't know he had hip trouble, & after a week of running, playing, etc.. he hurt so bad, we had to take him to the vet. We couldn't put him down, so we returned him to his original owner... broke my heart. Watch for my lo called: "His name was Rambo" Tell your friend, she too had a wonderful friend!
awww..this one is possibly my favorite LO ever. The story behind the picture and the LO brought tears to my eyes. What a wonderful gift that you have given your friend. :)
Karen, you really rocked this LO as usually!!!!and I always love reading your journalings, you are such a good writer and I agree about that you should be writing books about dogs!!!
Oh, my Karen....the tenderness with which you hold other's emotions and take them into your care and really see, hear and feel the deepest parts of them is such a gift. You are so unselfish...so giving and again you have created such a treasure....one that Erika will carry with her always....one that you've so generously shared with all of us. Thank you for that. I've no doubt that Ed approves and sending you many wags and woofs from above! Hugs, Me
sniff..... you sure have a way of making me cry.... you have touched my heart ... I know exactly what you mean about dogs ... (I am leader of our pack; aka: dog whisperer style.) what a beautiful animal and what a beautiful description. You certainly have a way with words, and you should be writing books ... about dogs of course. The page is gorgeous, the picture is touching, and the tears in my eyes are for him and for our old dog Bonnie, that we let go in June. (she's still in our hearts though)
now you've made me cry... because your thoughts about animals echo my own so closely. beautiful page, and a beautiful YOU for putting your heart into this.
Ok, EVERY time I come to your gallery I am struck by the deep passion you have for animals, and the high regard you hold for our relationships with them! I love the quotes and titles you use, Karen. I love the top notch design, color and arrangements. Nice attention to detail, but MOSTLY sweet affection and deep respect that just shines on each page!!!!!!!!!!!!! xx
This is another page I've created for Erika (Elombardo19 in the neighborhood!). Her beloved dog Ed was so much more than "just a dog" or pet. They were best friends and mutual companions.
I used to tell people that their dogs would let them know when "it was time" to let them go. I've learned that's not always true. Lucky (my four-legged BFF) hid his pain (probably for many years) and even minutes before the final trip to the vet, he was acting goofy and even wanted to play with the tennis ball. Dogs live in the moment. "I'm getting attention and affection right now and here's a tennis ball and the pain's not THAT bad..." Even the vets aren't always sure what the "right" choice is. Our unconditional love must then be demonstrated when we do what is best for the dog: relieve them of their unspoken pain, the limp they try to hide by moving faster, and finally, the obvious pain they can no longer hide. Those of you who've been there know what I'm talking about. Quality of life is measured differently for animals.
I loved this picture of Ed that Erika sent to me. It is a picture of a dog at peace. No worries. Our dogs will lie down in a position that allows them to see our comings and goings, where they can check to see if we're heading to the kitchen where the refrigerator holds miraculous things like meat and cheese, or better still, reaching for our purse and the car keys for a road trip. When I look at this picture of dear Ed, I see contentment. I see wisdom in those sweet brown eyes. I see age creeping in to rob a dog of its strength and vitality. I see a dog who is trusting his dog mom to do what is right for him, knowing she has his best interest at heart. The love of the ages seems to reside in his eyes. One thing I know for sure: the love they give is always greater than the love they take. I see all that and more in this photo of Ed.
The LO isn't quite finished yet. I want to add some hearts below the quote/title. Haven't found exactly what I want to use yet!
