SHCG: I like the spread you've done here. The color choices are really great with the cake. I feel like the layout as a whole is top heavy. It seems like the right side of the left page needs grounding under the photo. I don't know what though. More sparklies perhaps.
SHCG: Welcome welcome welcome LUV the blue color paper and the pattern paper. The glitter hats are a hoot. My only feedback would be, next time, when you are working with a series of photos that tell a story look at the ways you can arrange them so that the eye is carryed across the story. Here the photos are a little out of order when viewing from left to right. and PS I was going to add that the one special photo you like should be larger but I see several have already suggested this. This is a GREAT two page spread. These comment are just "food for thought" for the future.
SHCG: What an adorable LO. The journal around the pictures is great! Around the outside, is that doodling or actual stitching (I couldn't tell even when I blew it up), regardless I love the touch it adds. I agree that maybe one picture could have been larger to fill the gap towards the bottom. What a cute kid!
SHCG: Very cute! I also think one photo needs to be larger... doesn't seem to be a focal point here. THe party hats are a nice touch, as is the doodled border. Nice LO!
SHCG: First off, Trevor is adorable :) I love the doodling and the journaling around the pics, the hat on his head is adorable. I agreen with Brenda about the photo placement, I think having one pic really bigger then the other would help take up some of the empty space. Also what would be cool is to put the pictures on an angle, to look like they were thrown across the page :)
SHCG: So cute! I would consider a few more embellishments... those party hats are really cute and I would love to see maybe a cake, some candles or streamers to coordinate with the party theme.
SCHG - Aw what a little cutie! I love the bright colors, fun pp & those awesomely adorable pics! Like Brenda, my eyes tend to gravitate to the empty space of pp in the lower left... I could visualize maybe adding a block of a sub-title or additional general journaling of the event, e.g. "6/2007 - Trevor's 1st birthday party - it was a sunny day, so & so came over to whatever but all Trevor wanted to do was get at his cake! We couldn't stop laughing!" Something like that. The pics are pretty self-explanatory but that's just a small suggestion to fill up that space & convey the memory more. Great playful LO on such a happy event, TFS!
SHCG: Love your patterned paper and the journaling around the photos, and the blingy hats are a fun touch! I do tend to agree with Brenda that no one photo really stands out as being the focal point - my eye is drawn to the patterned paper first, but that's not necessarily a bad thing since it conveys the theme so strongly!!
SHCG: I posted a comment below, but now that you've opened it up for critique, I'll just give one main suggestion to consider. Step back and look at this spread and see where your eyes tend to focus on. If it's not on your focal photo(s), consider rearranging your photo placement. Maybe even see what enlarging one of the pics will do for your spread. As is, for me, my eyes tend to zero in on that empty space in the text pp and I'm not sure which direction your photos flow. I like the journaling around the pics and the bling party hat over the birthday boy is a cute touch. Welcome to the group, I hope you enjoyed your first swift arse kicking. :D
shcg: He looks like he had a blast! Love how the blues and browns of your LO matches the pictures. Wonderful job on that. The matting helps to bring your photos into view. I like how you journaled around your photos/lo. Great job!
