This is so cute!!! I bet your husband loved it. Also ... you know ... I still have some of those books - probably from the mid to late 70's!! My daughter was born in 74 and loved them too!!!
What a fantastic idea!! I think you should submit this for a DT call!! I love that you used the actual inside of the Richard Scarry book---real scrapping!!
This is So Awesome....I loved Richard Scary too. Your hubby's name on the name plate is such a great idea. Seeing that Richard Scary worm character brings back memories. What a Fab Design Pam!!!
this is too cute! Love, love, love how you worked the embellies and colors to really highlight those priceless pics. The way you did his name is just perfect...straight into my faves!
This is just too gorgeous for words! I loved Richard Scarry books too and was a 74 baby!! Love the design, love the pics and love how you included Lowly worm in his apple car!!
Awesome Pam! These are great photos to scrap! I love everything you did with this LO! Someone gave my kids a collection of the golden book and Doctor Dan is in there!
Oohh I LOVE this. The title is so sweet and clever. We still have all the kids Christmas Golden Books and they come out every Christmas still. They're 19 and 23! This layout is a treasure. Love the photos and the design..and the cute little border under the photos. Great job!
This is oh so sweet and so nicely put together. The LO matches the photo in terms of the retro feel and I LOVE how you matched the colors to the stripes in his shirt. By the way, my favorite of the two pictures is the one of him looking down. It looks like a quiet moment captured! Thanks for sharing this!
Oh and another thing - it is so great how you combined several sources of inspiration for this. You have placed them all so well!
Wow, Pam - That's very ingenious using part of the book as a picture mat! I have that paper too - thanks for the idea on how to use it! Your husband was adorable! Nice work!
OMG!!! Pam this page is just darling!! how cool to use a page from his favorite story book!!! Your hubby is just precious!!! great photos of him when he was so young!! Great Job!!!
Oh how CUTE!!!!!!!!!!! I remember my kids loving Richard Scary books (and how I enjoyed reading those books to them)!! In fact, I still have them stored in my basement! Love the cute little characters; love the darling design and the photos are simply precious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW Pam! You are definitely developing a wonderful scrapbook style!!! This layout is FANTASTIC! I love everything about it, especially the cute photos of your hubby and how you actually used parts of the book in your layout! Richard Scarry books are the BEST!!
I loved those books too. Had one of those that was make and do and I did all the stuff in it. BUT I think it was my baby brothers but he didn't want it and got to play with the stuff I made from it so it was all good. Great idea to include Lowly! Fantastic page. Thank you for the reminder of that time. :)
This is my DH as a baby circa summer 1976. He loved Richard Scarry books as a child-so did I!! I used the inside cover of a Rihcard Scarry book to mat the smaller pic. I cut out his favorite character, Lowly the worm for the LO as well. The stars were inspired by SheilaMarie's "Wooley's Baseball" LO.
