You have such a great imagination, Lisa. I love what you did with the barbed wire. I love the way you incorporated memorabilia into the layout. Wonderful work.
there is so much I really love about this layout - not sure what my fave part is - the scarf on the cactus (love the use of the letters for the fringe) or the masked barbed wire! Just a super layout all around!
Great frame! Love the border punch and all the distress inking. The masking is awesome, and I love the cactus - great job!! Overall a very creative page!
OMG.....so great...where should I start?? I love the magnet idea (totally stealing), barb wire - awesome, and the cactus is soooo cute (especially the use of the letters as tassles - genius!)!!
Another LO from our San Diego vacation in 2007. Journaling -- January 3: Today we spent the first part of the day in Old Town San Diego. We toured all the buildings, did some shopping (I got a pair of mystic topaz earrings!), and had a great lunch with fabulous margueritas.
I used an August '09 Pagemap for the basic design here. I masked the barbed wire across the top with Black Soot ink, and then misted the whole cream bg cs with Raven gm. The State Park pamphlet is held on with magnets so that it can be removed easily from the page in the page protector to read. I made a pocket behind the photo on the left to put the 'Hints for the Plains Traveler' which I distressed and inked with Old Paper ink. These hints were printed in the Omaha Herald in 1877 and are amusing to read. The horseshoe photo mat, journaling block, Wanted poster, cow print, and sheriff badge were cut from an old Scrapbooking calendar. The circles are Gunmetal Stickles. I made the cactus by tearing shapes out of the green cs. Adding the scarf like a snowman was an idea I got from an OLD Lasting Moments magazine for winter pages in warm climates.
This is for: 1. March 2 Page LO with the twist to do a travel LO.
2. March Use Your Supplies Week 3 ~ Letters. We had to use a mix of 3 different kinds of letters. I used 3 different fonts - 2 stickers & 1 chipboard. I also did the twist to use letters for something other than a title -- the fringe on the cactus's scarf is made from 'v' & 'w' stickers.
3. VLB challenge to use chipboard. I have a few cb letters.
