Our first day in Ho Chi Minh City, and my first taste of 40 deg celcius heat, humidity 90%. Our guide took us to his favourite restaurant in the city before heading off to Vung Tau, the army post my dh was posted at during the war.

This restuarant was amazing, it was semi outdoor with all the cooking done outdoors in a square around the tables, the side and back walls were open so you could wander around all the different areas they were preparing the meals, each little low walled area prepared a different dish. Superb food, the guide asked could he order for us, all nice except one dish which to us resembled leftovers in wash up water, so that got left, but that was an exception the rest we loved. Bob was pleased they had the beer that he drank when there during the war.
