Made with the new Scrapbooking from the Inside Out kit. Each month we explore an emotion, and this month's theme is Anticipation. The hidden journaling reads: Dukkha (doo-kuh) - noun, Buddhism. The first of the Four Noble Truths, that all human experience is transient and that suffering results from excessive desire and attachment. Yogic tradition teaches that dukkha results from never living in the present moment. In our minds, we lean back toward the past, twist away from the present, or lean forward toward the future. This idea really speaks to me, because I spend a lot of my time daydreaming about the next “big” thing in my life... the next vacation, the next activity, the next season. Anticipation is good, but sometimes I wonder if I’m missing the beautiful things that exist today. This present moment could be wonderful if I just lived in it. One of my goals for the year was to breathe deeply and enjoy the moment. I’m trying every day to reach that goal. I don’t want to twist away from today, hoping for something better tomorrow. Life starts now.
