This is such a wonderful photo of my grandfather, and I wish I knew more about it, but I'm glad to have found the perfect kit to scrap it with! My grandfather worked in the oilfields of Venezuela as a young man as the foreman of a crew drilling for oil there in the 1930's. Meryl Bartho's Scrapped Metal Value Pack is manly enough for any photo, but would also lend itself to nature photos, or heritage as I've done here, and the included alpha is an ideal added bonus! For this layout I increased the contrast on the rusty metal background and removed/re-added a few shadows on elements I flipped. I also recolored Meryl's cute little date marker circle to use to point out just which of these handsome gentlemen was my grandfather. This kit can be found at Digital Scrapbook Place.
