SHCG: You really have shown how fun the day was! Normally, I'm not into really loud bg pp, but it really works here; it brings out the party feeling. I do think that choosing a plain cs (white?) for celebrating and years in the title would help them stand out more though. Very fun LO!
SHCG: Great photos! Looks like a really great celebration. At first I thought that the background pp looked distracting but when I had a closer look it works really well with the photos and the mattng really sets the photos off from the background nicely. I also agree with making the picture of the peppers straight snce the rest of the elements on the page are straight as well.
SHCG: What a fun loving bunch and lo! I love the bg paper! The title is so much fun! I think white mats will add so much to the pics and make them stand out more! You got some great pics of the celebration!
SHCG:Great job!! I like the title work, but I do think that the pics blend in with the paper, like Wendy said maybe adding additional matting would help. I think that the one pic that is turned is kinda out of place a bit maybe it should be straight too. What a great fun page to do!
SHCG: I love how your pp choice and overall placement complement the festive sentiment of the celebration. That picture of Jerry is a hoot! I absolutely love how you created one photo out of three in the group shot of all of you surrounding her with the horns. Hoot, hoot, hoot! I like the suggestion to cut out the outline of the grill; I'd like to suggest you do a similar cropping of the squirrel pic, which is very funny along with the sticker next to it. This way you create another visual triangle of shots whose outlines are cut, just as you have a visual triangle with the pink phrase stickers. I'd like to see the gap between the squirrel and Jerry closed a bit just to have even margins throughout. It might be a cute to draw a string upwards from the title with a handcut balloon attached with a 90 in it to drive the theme a little further and close up the gap a little bit. I also like the additional mat suggestion, but I think scalloped mats will go better with the round images in your spread. Fun title, and cute hidden journaling pull tab, Chellby. Happy 90th birthday, Jerry! This spread is definitely worth celebrating.
SHCG: This looks like a beautiful and happy celebration! I agree with Chris' suggestion of straightening the pepper picture (that is hard to say). :) I am also wondering if it would be possible to add an additional matte behind your pictures. I love that background paper and your colorful pics, but I wonder if it would help pop your pictures out a little more if you added maybe a black or bright pink matte around the existing green...
SHCG: LUV LUV LUV your fun pages. The pattern paper is loud and perfect. Your captions are a hoot and lust LUV your little embellishments. The cut out photo is way cool. Some might say this style is old school scrapbooking BUT old school scrapbooking ROCKS! my only suggestion might be to also cut the pepper photo too (ovalish shape). The angle of the photos is a little funky. If you trim the corners off you could rotate it a little, it would fit a little better into the area, and the shape would add interest.
SHCG - What a fun celebration you've documented here! Excellent muti-pic 2 pager! Spirited pics & embellies - LUV the pic of Jerry w/ the pic of her above her. I like the hidden journaling & the cut-outs of you guys w/ the noisemakers. The background pp is very busy & lively, but it works given the festive subject here. Nice choice to have photo mattes to give pics added emphasis. I was going to say that the title gets a little lost in all the patterns but I zoomed in & saw the Stickles outline & glittered "90" - fabulous touch! The gel pen outline helps highlight the other letters but I would perhaps also dot "celebrating" & "years" w/ whitish/clear Stickles to make them stand out a little more. Sensational work, Michelle!
shcg: great job on a 2-pager! the only thing I can see changing is the orientation of the pepper picture. everything else is straight on, so the diagonal orientation kind of throws the layout off in my mind. very cool use of the busy paper for your titling and in general.
This was a birthday celebration for Jerry (Geraldine). We all got together and had a barbque(somehow I did't get pictures of the food but of Steve's peppers he was roasting). We had a lot of fun. I bought the balloons, crown, lei and noisemaking horns. We laughed so hard at trying to blow the horns. It was a fun day. The one picture of Jerry in the chair with the art hanging behind her, that is a picture of her on the wall. It is one of my favorite photos from the day.
