You can also buy packs of actual curtain rings (though this idea would probably be less expensive). They are a ring with a clip on them to hold a curtain, so they would hold definitely hold heavier items with ease.

i love this. very easy, very inexpensive. bought the round curtain rods at big lots for $3 each, put them up with inserts so it wouldn't work the drywall loose. bought O rings that are used in 3-ring binders and put binder clips on those to hang the stickers, etc.
