My grandma is 91 years old and still insists upon doing the Sunday dinner dishes. My then 5 year old was a bit disgusted that we were making her do them and questioned it. The thing is - she insists upon it, and those who live closest to her have given up arguing with her. My aunt explained it to my son like this. You see, she said, it's like if you just had one Lego to play with during the week but on the weekend you had the chance to play with a big pile of Legos. That's what doing the dishes is like for grandma. He wasn't buying it, but really - it's the truth. That's my grandma.
