This was the last LO I scrapped before I became a MOM, giving birth 7 weeks early last Halloween... I remember coming home from the hospital (while our baby was still in the NICU) & seeing this LO where I left it out for the Stickles to dry...it seemed like it was scrapped a lifetime before instead of just a few days!

This is about Christmas '10 in Houston w/ my family. This holiday was touched upon on my "25 Days To Be Festive" 4-page LO (http://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/41507/view/2608873/-1/20/1.html & http://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/41507/view/2608865/-1/20/1.html) but I wanted to tell more of the story so voila!

This is my response to Chris' 2010 Biweekly Challenge 25 (Tis The Season), Lisa's 2011 Biweekly Challenge 2 (Use Your Supplies - this uses older DCWV pp & stickers leftover from my Xmas '07 mini book) and my own intermittent Catch-Up Challenges for Scrap Happenzz Critique Group. I followed Sketches by Suzy's sketch #6 for this. The scan doesn't really capture the shininess of the gems under the title or the silver & gold Stickles, oh well.

Journaling for anyone interested: After San Antonio, Greg & I were off to Houston for an incredible Christmas! Mon 12/21/09 - Amazing to see my parents – the house was clean & welcoming, w/ stockings hung for every family member! Had DELECTABLE spinach enchiladas at Sylvia's! Tues 12/22 – Mellow day because Greg & I had a downtown evening! Flying Saucer dinner (Iphone saved us on rainy crazy freeway) - I had a “kick arse chicken sandwich” (cheese & mild jalapeno mayo) w/ a warm tater/vinaigrette salad & a hummingbird (pear cider w/ Framboise) – yum! Great time w/ Susan at the Rockets game, they beat the Clippers, nice stadium, cute mascot Clutch! Wed 12/23 – Le Peep breakfast w/ the 'rentals – G & I split delicious breakfast tacos & blueberry wheat pancakes. Then Katy Mills outlet shopping! After that, old fave (new locale) Marini's Empanadas – got bbq brisket & strawberry/whipped cream, mmm! Final Katy stop – ARCHIVER'S! That night, we went to pick up Shirley & ate at Thai Spice (hot & tasty green papaya salad). At the house, had fun unearthing dreadful retro clothes from my parents' closets. Thurs 12/24 – After savory breakfast tacos by Mom (eggs w/ apple chicken sausage), James Avery jewelry shopping - Mom & Dad treated Shirley & me like princesses! (Sally & Sarah got gifts later). At home, Shirley made excellent grilled cheeses, then Sally's family arrived! Daniel & Sarah are taller than me, & all 3 kids are cute as ever! Hectic month for ‘em – since Jon's being transferred to Sweden, they went there, then home to MN, then TX for Xmas, to go to CO for New Yr's! Chilled & chatted, great spirits. Eventually, we all went for a Tex Mex Christmas Eve dinner at Pappasitos. Back at the house, the kids played on Greg's Iphone & people looked at my Thanksgiving '06 in MN scrapbook LOs. Fri 12/25 – Merry Christmas! Awoke to more breakfast tacos & a nice lingering morning chat w/ family♥. Opened our stockings! Eventually I made sesame green beans, others cooked too & relatives started showing up!! Fantastic to see family! FOOD was excellent – I'm not a big turkey fan but it was cooked so well w/ a great gravy – thanks Mom! Notables: my Penzey's Spices salad dressing & green beans, Shirley's eggplant & Chinese broccoli, Aunt Eva's tortellini & alfredo dipping sauce, plus the pansit, adobo, lumpia Mom & Dad ordered. Desserts: my lowfat chocolate cake was good (altered from a mix, better heated w/ fat free cool whip), storebought cuchinta & Mom's Watergate salad. Then presents! Got fabulous stuff (including a Judge Judy hoodie & book from Greg!) & gave fabulous stuff – tons of fun! Took group pics in various combos! Later, traditional living room karaoke – marvelous that everyone got into it! “Last Christmas” was a usual classic, & did a hilarious “I Will Survive” w/ Sally & Shirley! AMAZING time w/ everyone. After extended relatives departed, some of us played a HILARIOUS “Game of Things”! -- What a phenomenal as usual family Christmas! Dad & Mom were incredibly hospitable & generous. Awesomeness in abundance. J

Thanks for the challenges, Lisa & Chris!
