LOVE! How creative you were with that title! Great design and I really love that border punch, I must use it... and soon. :) Love the pps and pics as well. Great job on creating another fave for me.
What a terrifically fun, deeply wonderful page and celebration of your first foray into the world of sewing your own clothes (that skirt is so great!).
I think I remember that fabric...and I am delighted that you were able to make a skirt out of it! I remember that not only did Daddy get bit by the dog....but it made the newspaper the next week too! LOL! Awesome layout!!
This turned out so cute - love how your skirt turned out, too! Great journaling of the "history" of the skirt - Great job mixing the sets of CC pps - that big punch turned out so cute, too! Just love it all!!!
This is the most amazing story, Sarah! I love, LOVE the story behind your layout! And your layout is, well, just awesome! I love how you used the cosmo cricket pp's here and I totally love your design. A FAV!!!!!!!!!
"Last summer I made my 1st ever piece of clothing- a simple wrap-around skirt. My grandma had given us this fabric (in the form of a huge skirt & head wrap) several years ago & I instantly fell in love with it. Of course, there is a story behind the fabric/skirt. Back in the 50’s, my grandparents went to a costume party, my grandma dressed as comic strip character Snuffy Smith & my grandpa dressed as Snuffy’s wife, Loweezy (Louisa). They used this fabric for my grandpa’s skirt & head wrap. I guess his costume was pretty good because as they headed out the door to go to the party, their dog didn’t recognize my grandpa & bit him. When I took the skirt apart, I found that there was just enough fabric to make my skirt. So I got not only a cute skirt, but also a piece of my grandpa’s past that I will always treasure...Photos- June 13, 2011...Journaling- June 30, 2011"
On this page I used papers from Cosmo Cricket's "Girl Friday" and "Material Girl" lines. The big border punch is by Martha Stewart. I cut out the word "sew" using the cuddlebug and I used K&Co. chipboard alphas for the word "thrifty". I hand doodled all the stitching with a black Zig pen and a Signo.
