Oh WOW!!!! LOVE this 2 page project!!! This is one of my favorite books of all time so I'm always amazed when someone can match the awesomeness of the story with a project and you just did- A plus wonderful!!! ;)
Can't you made a trip to PA to teach a class just for me??????? (LOl!) I absolutely ADORE your 2-pager! I saw this play in NYC for my birthday with my sister and cousin, and loved it!
LOVE this layout! You did such an amazing job with the fussy cutting!! And the yellow brick road is awesome! Love the fun design! All of your hard work really shows! FAVE!!
I loved Wicked!! I took my DD to it last year. Elphaba rocks! This two pager is uh-mazing! I love the way the road moves across your pages and all of that fussy cutting makes my hand hurt! LOL Gorgeous work.
Wow Kelly, I LOVE the land of Oz you've created!! Everything fits perfectly - your fussy cutting is GREAT and well worth your effort (and just think, you got a nap out of it too - LOL). I especially love the yellow brick road. TFS.
WOW!!!!! This is FABULOUS!!! I can't believe how much fussy cutting you did...your hand is probably still cramping! But it was sooo worth it. The yellow brick road is too cool...love the witch's legs in there! The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movies and I feel like I just visited the set....now I'm going to be singing "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" for the rest of the day!
Wow girl - you really rocked this lo! The yellow brick road is an inspired piece of art! I'm not sure where to start - so much to look at and admire, but the fussy cutting was worth all the effort - AND the nap!
Nothing short of AMAZING, Kelly!!!! Awesome yellow brick road and 3-D poppies....not a pun....LOL.....It's getting late and I'm getting a little loopy! Awesome work of art, my dearie!!!!
Totally fabulous...love the scene you created!! Your brick road looks amazing and your fussy cut characters are placed perfectly on the road. I have wondered about this musical and whether to go and see it, but haven't known anyone who had seen it yet...sounds like you recommend it!
oops...sorry babe...didn't realize you had posted it here too :) luuuuv the yellow brick road and all the technique to create that beautiful caged Glinda! Fab job with all the fussy cutting Kelly! I know it is sooooo tedious but the end result is FANTASTIC! Magical indeed!
Yay a Kelly layout..so fun to look at and admire. I can appreciate all that fussy cutting...it makes my eyes go buggy after I cut up a bunch of stuff so Great job. I read the book but never got to see the play...my younger dd saw it and loved it. I would love to have seen the steampunk stage sets. You did a great job on this..Love the photo of you two. Those witchy feet are cool and in the Wizard of Oz movie, back when I was a kid, that was the part that scared me the most..those feet curling up...very disturbing..lol. Fun layout.
Wow, this ia awesome, lovey to see another double!! I need these pps!! I was in the Wizard of OZ, a play we designed the set and costumes for when I was in YR12, my last yr in High School...of coarse I was Glinda!! I have pics that were in the local pp that I have scrapped but these pps would be so much better!! Lol...great job :)
Love this, Kelly! My DD read the book "Wicked" a few years ago and went crazy over it it(and the soundtrack!)fabulous fussy-cutting(glad you managed to survive it!) and love the border punchwork!Your yellow brick road is perfect; I like the sound of that too-we should all create our own yellow brick roads every day!
O MY GOODNESS..what an exquisite LO!!!! This is magnificently superb!! One can certainly see the ingenuity and hoards of work you put into this LO!! Definitely a FAVE!!! Might have to do a lift on this one!!!
WOW KELLY! This is so wonderful. Just the time it took to hand cut all the Oz character's out must have taken awhile. The entire thing is amazing! Love all the pp's and embellies on this, BRAVO!!!
In the summer, my BFF Sandra treated me to the Musical "Wicked"...and wow, it was an amazing experience! I regret not buying a program, though, so I could have cut out the pictures from it ....the photos on here of Glinda and Elphaba (Wicked Witch, but not really) are downloaded from the internet and are poor resolution. Hopefully I'll replace them. The centre photo is of Sandra and me posing with a Wicked poster before the show began.
This fabulous play inspired me to create this 2-pager, which I taught at my lss this month. Lots of Tim Holtz dies and my Big Shot helped with this scene...and I used the gear border along the top because the sets of Wicked are Steampunk! yay! The fussy cutting (characters, title banner, Glinda, poppies) almost drove me around the bend, but I toughed it out...and then took a nap.. ha ha! I designed my own yellow brick road (hmmm...I like the sound of that) using a TH brick embossing folder, Distress ink Brushed Corduroy and some yellow stickles.
On my blog I included lots of close ups and detailed descriptions of the techniques www.kellycreates.blogspot.com (posted Oct. 24 2011).
Thanks so much for stopping by with your comments....wishing you a magical day :)
