This is my very first lift here at SB.com, done in 2009.
It took me a while to realize that lifting is a compliment to the artist, and not cheating or plagiarizing.
New to the world of SB.com, I spent a lot of time looking at galleries, and I noticed that almost everything I marked as a favorite, belonged to one artist - Robinzberdz. I loved this one the first time I saw it in 2008, and did a lift shortly after. I have to credit Robin and Swirlydoos for most of what I know about scrapping today. That is an incredible group of ladies over there!
This is a photo of my younger daughter and my mom, shortly after my mom was released from chemotherapy and her doctor told her that she could begin receiving visitors. She was so weak, so sick, and so lonely. We made the drive up the first day we were allowed.
Even at that time, although prayers were never far from our lips, I wasn't sure if this would be one of those...last photo opportunities. I'm so grateful that THIS is not the last memory I have of my mother. She is three years cancer free as of today. Every single day is a blessing.
