I bought a 2 X 2 from the hardware store about 3$ (It actually measures 1.5 x 1.5) had my husband cut them into 1.75" lengths, sanded all the corners applied really strong velcro tape to the wood block (I think its called the loop side) and simply labeled all of them with the colors My only big expense was the tim holtz ink pads but you can get those for $5 for a pack of 10 I think. I don't know what I did with out them
