WOW, Louise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is spectacular!!!!!!!!! LOVED reading your story!!! thanks so much for sharing it!!! gorgeous page and fabulous photo!!!!
Ancestry.com is really a treasure trove for heritage research! I found a couple of my "unknown" relatives on there and was able to fill in some family story holes as well. What a wonderful photograph, and what a great story to match! Love work with the crochet and lace. Beautiful layout!
What a story! Isn't Ancestry.com great? I've found relatives I've never had through that site and we've exchanged lots of family photos. This LO is gorgeous. Love the flower embellies and the little vintage man down in the corner. Really beautiful!
Wow, so beautiful!!! First of all I love your title, it's just perfect, that little bit of humor really is wonderful! The whole page is lovely, such great design that really highlights this amazing find of a photograph! That is something, how lucky to have found the cousin. The soft muted colors here are just the perfect choices, an amazing page, again!!!
What a treasure! You scrapbooked this awesome photo so beautifully too. I love Ancestry.com and also found a distant cousin who shares my gr gr grandparents and got a photo too! We are so lucky! Anyway, I love what you did with your "find"!
A beautiful heritage page. What a great photo & story. I am making you a fav artist. I am on Ancestry too. I found lots of cousins too & photos too. I love every single detail in this page. I am saving it. Martica told me about her heritage challenge. I told her I will love to do it after we move.
These are my great grandparents Ben and Harriet Wills. I've only ever had one picture of them that was taken when they were old and it was out of focus. After joining Ancestry.ca, I found a "cousin" who lives in another country and we share these gr. grandparents. My cousin had this awesome picture and a few more and the really cool thing about this is that my Gr. Grandfather, Benjamin Wills, looks identical to several of my uncles, my male cousins and even resembles my brother. No one in my family knew this since they had never met him! This picture and another one that she gave me went viral on facebook among my family - it really blew us away!
Rumour has it that when Ben was 15 or 16 he jumped ship from England to stay in Canada with Hattie!
My grandmother was their second youngest child - she wasn't born when this was taken.
I made this page for the June Heritage Challenge. Thanks for looking and your kind comments!
