I think this LO is the winner for me....Love them both!!! Yes yes, but I really like the contrast in this LO with the rich red and amber glow with the monotone paper, even if the ppr is busy (but lovely). I'm a firm believer using ppr and embellies to highlight the photo. This LO achieves that look to me better than the B/W. Both are still stunning, but this one warms my heart a bit more. Thx for asking and for sharing, Vija! I love your work!
ok...I missed this original post....and I must say they are both exceptional. I love the lighting in the photo! The layout looks gorgeous...you are being way too hard on yourself! HUGS!
your fussy cutting is just fabulous, and the photo is breathtaking,Vija! The LO is lovely as it is; if it's not what you envisioned and you decide to scrap it in a different style with other pps, I'm sure it will be beautiful in its own way too! Your LOs always have a certain touch of elegance to them...love that!
I'm scared of almost every photo and every layout I do. You did a great job scrapping this most gorgeous photo...the photo looks like something from a magazine and you did it justice, no matter what your vision was.
Wow Vija what a breathtaking photo and a fantastic way you've framed it. The page has a definite labour of love creativeness about it and looks majesticly beautiful.Wonderful work.
I am all too familiar with the "too scared to scrap this photo syndrome". My dd's wedding photos had my creativity FROZEN and it was a long time before I could even think about pp let alone embellies for even one pic. I am certainly glad it didn't take you FOREVER to "tackle" this project. This may not have been what you planned (but none of us can see the one you envisioned - LOL). But this my friend is absolutely STUNNING!! The entire lo has a regal feel to it - enhanced with the amazing fussy cutting and beautiful chippie. I think is absolutely perfect in every way. TFS!!!
Wow talk about stunning!!!! I think your over estimating my layout.. don't get me wrong.. that was an awesome comment.. but look at THIS!!! Its just.....just.... speechless!!...
oh my there, very delicate and ever so elegant, you have scrapped this page so beautifully, and all those wonderful details take nothing at all away fom that divine foto, cant wait to see this IRL, as stunning as it looks here, bet it,s more stunning when I see it...definate fave and more....xo
Stunning!!!!! You've done an amazing job with your fussy cutting, wonderful design and gorgeous pops of color that contrast so well with the black and white!!!!
I think you've done a fabulous job with this, Vija. Your LO really captures the opulence and grandeur of the scene. I wouldn't change a thing on this LO - it's totally awesome . . . but if you wanted to take another shot at it some time, you could take an entirely different approach and do a simpler, elegant LO to let the photo have the leading role. Neither LO would be better than the other - just very different. They had a wonderful photographer for their wedding, an awesome setting, a gorgeous bride and groom, and now you are doing this storybook wedding justice, with your fantastic LO's. This is a double FAVE!
Vija, this is absolutely stunning! I think you scrapped it perfectly! I know what you mean though, if you're not happy with it then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks..it's your labor of love!
Okay, I will be the truthful one here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with your layout BUT it doesn't allow the photo to be center stage. There already is a lot of busyness in the staircase and chandelier. I still love the photo and you!
I have no idea why you don't like it! It's a beautiful page Vija. Do you think if you painted some of the pieces of the fussy cut papers in the colors that you used on the rest of the page that you'd like it more? Maybe with Glimmer mist and a paintbrush? Just a thought. I think it's awesome just as it is!
OMGosh! This is fabulous! The fussy cutting is flawless & they will totally love this - you have created the most beautiful wedding album ever!!!!!! I know she will cry when she sees it all!
Oh my! You have most definitely have done this justice!!!! This is absolutely beautiful! This photo is stunning and so is your layout! Don't worry, you have done it justice!!!!!
Oh my goodness Vija! You SURELY have "done it justice" and then some!!! I love how you have scrapped their favorite wedding photo!!! I am sure that they do, too! We are our own worst critics sometimes! I love the papers you picked and the fussy cutting! Everything looks stunning! I agree with Jan!!
I know some of you are familiar with the 'too scared to scrap this photo' syndrome. This was one of those cases. I finally, after a lot of searching and changing my mind repeatedly settled on these papers but I'm kind of disappointed with the result. Sadly, this looked a lot better in my head than it does on paper. Maybe one day I'll find some new papers and scrap the photo again as it was the bride & grooms favourite photo and I feel bad that I haven't done it justice. A lot of fussy cutting on this one...a real labour of love. TFL.
