wow, I've never seen so much journaling on 1 LO before--AWEsome job w/the storytelling & taking me back to that day in your life. Sounds like you 2 had a wonderful Christmas together! : ]
LOVE that you did the journaling directly on the bg in your printer. I haven't had a LO to do that on in a long time, but I love that technique. Such a sweet LO!
I love the story in the journaling and I know you are so happy to have it down on paper with those great pictures. I love the littel red beads, just the touch when there wasn't room for much.
WOW- awesome job- that's a lot of journalling, but it tells a wonderful story- those firsts are awesome- especially when we do something wonderful for our spouse- makes me think I need to do some pages of those stories before the details get fuzzy
DH opening his gifts Christmas 2003, our first Christmas together after we were married. Since this is also for the Sept. sb.com Kit Club Challenge #4 - Make journaling 50% of entire LO there is a lot of journaling!! The journaling reads:
These are all photos I took of you during our first Christmas after we were married. There are so many things I want to remember about it, and I hope I haven’t forgotten too much over the past (almost) nine years since. It’s weird I think, I can’t remember exactly why I went to California before Christmas, all I remember is that I bought you the books at the Barnes & Nobel in Victorville, packed them up, and brought them back to Michigan with me. Some were wrapped and put in your stocking and some were put under the tree, it was the “Death Gate Cycle,” a seven book series. They were good books, we both enjoyed reading them, even if you did complain that I was reading them too fast and catching up too fast! I did try to let you finish them first; after all, they were your Christmas gift! I think one of the funniest stories is the story of how you got your scope for Christmas! You were very specific about which one you wanted, to the point of telling me the brand, which isle in Wal-Mart, which row, and how many over from the left! I however did it the easy way; I just remembered what brand you wanted and went and asked Heidi were it was!! (It was a bit of a break her working in the Sporting Goods Department!). I was even able to get you the mounts for it, even though I apparently got the wrong ones of those, but I returned them for the right ones … still to this day you haven’t had the scope mounted yet!! I also got you two chess sets for Christmas, a dragon one and a glass one. I wasn’t sure how big the pieces were for the dragon set and I thought a glass board would look cool with them; unfortunately the glass set was small, far too small for the dragon pieces. It is the story of the dragon pieces that is the best though! I remember when UPS brought them to the house (you were at work) and I opened the packaging, I saw a box that said it was a Civil War Chess set! I was horrified! There wasn’t going to be enough time to return them and get the right ones in time for Christmas morning! I opened the box up though, and low and behold there were the dragons!! I was so relieved, & already plotting to do the same to you! I wrapped the set & put it in hiding (behind the dresser) & waited for Christmas. On Christmas morning I was so excited when I handed you the chess set to open, I could hardly keep a straight face, and boy do I remember your face when you took the wrapping off! You were trying so hard to look happy, I knew you were disappointed thinking I had given you a Civil War set. Did I know nothing about you? I kept insisting you open the box & look at the set itself, you kept saying “I’ll do it after all the other gifts are open,” but I insisted. I know you gave in just to appease me, but the look on your face when you pulled out a dragon set was worth my annoyance wasn’t it?! I had the camera ready; I always want to remember the look on your face when you realized I did know you! In keeping with your love of dragons and wizards the kids got you the wizard & dragon water tube; although with the hard water we had in Michigan we never did put water in it!!
Yes I really did run the paper through my printer after cutting it into three 4x12 strips, and it was NOT easy getting that 2003 to land in the right spot ... I held my breath while I waited for the printer to finish (good thing it's a fast printer!)
