How special to be able to trace your family history firsthand this way! This is such a beautiful page, and I love the title, photos, flowers, and hexagons!
This is so quaint. I love the idea of using the hexagon shape, it's a change from squares and circles! The photos are great and the layered chippie chicken wire accents them nicely. I love everything about this page. Well done.
What a wonderful page for your heritage album - so great that you were able to connect with your ancestry - the chicken wire is a perfect touch to showcase these wonderful photos ~
You're always thinking of something different. I would never have thought to punch the edges. Those Dusty Attic flowers work beautifully with that page. Love it.
so very pretty, Maryanne-that's the kind of thing I'd want to do on vacation too; I love old buildings and ruins! The chicken wire and cheesecloth look fabulous and the title is perfect!!
wow what a stunning and beautiful layout so amazing detail on it too love it and thank you so much for the storie of your heritage is't it nice to know where we all are from..
oh my there a very gorgoeusly impressive heritage page you have created, the fotos are awesome and so luv the new k/c papers you used, sweet lil details as well, and some fancy punching...boy how interesting treking around looking for relatives graves, I would have quite a few in England ireland and italy, but they were probably all convicts, lol,, fave page for me....xo
How wonderful that you were able to find this place. Lovely resting place! Your title is perfect, you traveled many miles to find them and did not forget your heritage.
Beautiful heritage page Maryanne! Love the design and amazing photos! I wish my dd and I had had the time to look up our ancestors when we were in Ireland but the tour left no time for anything else. If we get there again that's what we'll do!
So beautifully composed and very peaceful!! The punchwork border with the pieces of chipboard interspersed about is a very effective design framing element! I love it! So very wonderful you were able to follow the ancestor trail and locate graves etc.!! The photographs are just beautiful too! What a gorgeous resting place, and a very stunning layout!!!
so beautifully tranquil and serene - befitting the lovely photographs. Love the punchwork, the lovely cluster of flowers and the resin angel is PERFECT. How fortunate that you were able to visit burial sites of your ancestors - making a physical connection with your past is amazing, isn't it??
OMGoodness..this is a gorgeous lo!! So wonderful that you found the burial sites of your ancestors; the photos are spectacular!! Your pps, colours and embellies are beautiful, superb punch work, lovely resin pieces!! Fabulous job!!
Wow just love the punch work and the way you've used the chippies . Fabulous photos, that you found so much heritage is wonderful. .The title is perfect as are the pps and embellishments.
While in England and Ireland we spent some time following both mine and my dh's Ancestor Trail, visiting the little villages they lived in and in some we were also fortunate enough to meet distant reli's who shared a common Ancestor. We enjoyed this much more than big cities and we were lucky enough to locate some graves. This ruined site was in the small village of Firies, Ireland and the resting place on many of my Ancestors on my mothers side. The headstones are very weathered and the inscriptions are quite difficult to read now. My 2 x great grandparents and other family members are buried here and this would be the little church that they attended back in the early 1800's. This layout will be part of my Family Heritage Album. Journalling is hidden behind the hexagon die bottom left and pulls out with the chippie.
Papers and small flowers are Kaisercraft. Large blue one's are DA. Can't remember who the chippie is from.
I am always very challenged for titles and I chose these papers not thinking that the title was right before me. The name of these lovely Kaisercraft pp's is called Forget Me Not...so I thought why not use it for my title!!
Thankyou so much for stopping and I hope you all have a wonderful week...hugs :)
