I seem to have developed a fixation toward the rubons that came with the November Noveau kit from Swirlydoos: I’ve ended up using them for the title of every page that I’ve created since it arrived. I only mention this because I’m notoriously horrible about titles and usually skip over this essential feature with every layout. Who knows? Maybe I’m ready to change my ways…

As mentioned, this page was created with the Noveau kit, full of gorgeous colors and papers and flowers and trims and even a jar of Silks acrylic glaze. Right on deadline, I’m entering it in Angelica’s Butterfly Challenge, always a favorite of mine!!!!

After punching out a circle with a Memory 8 punch, I made a flourish with molding paste (Krissy’s been supplying us with that, too, in the Project kits) and one of my favorite stencils. I cut a few strips from scraps left over from my “Forever” page to place behind the photo and fussy cut an image from the Frames pp. Next, I applied a coat of the Silks glaze to the Dusty Attic chippie, dried it, inked the edges, and applied a thin coat of watered-down gesso. When almost dry, I inked the edges again, allowing the slight damp to cause the Distress Ink to bleed softly.
Some pop dots, a few flowers and a bit of bling; another scrap adhered to the frame and a wood clock inside; a few butterflies here and there and it still didn’t look finished. Shaking my head, I took out the rubs…

A very sweaty Sophia last May taking a break from play to come in and blow out the candles on her three-year-old birthday cake..
