Love how you've cut the die cut and included both pieces - two parts make a whole. Just like you two "kids" have made a WHOLE life together. WONDERFULLY done - creative and HEARTWARMING!!!
I think the zipper flowers look terrific...I've been wanting to try those! I really like the background on this page and the color coordinated photo corners on the title/journaling block!
WTG girl, you really took the baton and ran with it! First, I have to say again that I dearly love your new photo. The years have been kind, and your love shines through as brightly as ever. Your quote here is certainly apt. Now for your gorgeous lift: What can I say? I love the direction you took this in. I love the retro feel and the beautiful yellows against the burgundy. And just so you know, I have some yellow zipper stuff in my stash that I've never known what to do with, but now I see flowers in its future, thanks! Wonderful job with your page, and much contuing happiness to you both!
I appreciate that you share the details of what you did, that way I can learn. I love the concept of the old photo and the new. You may have been younger but you both still have beautiful smiles and I love how you are leaning toward each other in the most recent one, shows the love still grow. Fantastic. And, those zippers! So creative and fun.
Gotta say Missy - you and hubby look HOTTER now! Smokin and sizzlin HOT! And Kitty don't use those words for just anyone. This page is also a sizzler - love those colors. Love the journaling and how you did the tag. Really love the yellow flowers and the accent the yellow gives. Meeeeowza. Fav Time has most certainly treated you gracefully. We should all be so lucky.
This is my project for January's Round Robin Challenge.
My husband's brother got remarried last May, and I decided that as long as there was a professional photographer around, we should take advantage and get our photo done. It arrived earlier this month in the mail - nobody was in a big hurry either to get the order into the photographer or to get the prints to the people who ordered them - but at least it came and it turned out really nice.
*************
I followed Carol - NMScrapper - this week. Her project is really gorgeous. You can see it here.
Since I wanted to scrap this photo, and since I needed TWO photos, I went digging around in my wedding album - I had to brush off the dust - and found this one. Gads we were so young and skinny back then! I scanned it, cropped it, took the color saturation WAY down - it's not technically a B&W, more of a pale pale pale washed out color - and printed it off the same size.
I wanted to also include this in my ABC challenge for this month - WXYZ - so I needed to create a few little odd ball elements. I found a nice yellow zipper in my stash and managed to get two flowers made from it. I found the other yellow silks in a box of old floral stems from Dollar General. So - W is for Wedding Photo, X is the cross stitching, Y is all the yellow elements, and Z for the zipper flowers.
It's also set up to play Marci's 5 ingredients Challenge. 1. ticket by Tim Holtz 2. red patterned paper 3. something angled - angled photograph 4. photo corners - on the journaling die cut 5. typed journaling - the quote is typed and printed onto a piece of patterned paper
I think that's everything. Thanks for taking a peek at my little project. I appreciate your comments SO much!
