Great tag, Pat. I had to enlarge it and look at all of the detail you used; it really looks like it has feathers! Also, love those flowers. Someone said earlier that their Tattered Florals don't look like that, neither do mine! I've sort of retired that die, but may have to get it out again. Thanks for the inspiration. Love your photos on the blue b/g paper, really gives the feeling of flight.
This is my layout project using my Week 1 assignment for the Swirlydoos Ultimate Design Challenge.
Our instructions were to take a piece of chipboard and alter it using at least two art mediums to create an original dimensional embellishment which we were to then use on a finished project.
My embellishment is the little "bird tag." I took the Tim Holtz bird cage die, cut the bird and two wings. Then I cut the legs off the bird, covered him and the wings in modeling paste, texturing it to resemble feathers. When it was dry, I took some glimmer mist (tattered leather) and home made shimmer mist (worn lipstick), and puddled it onto my craft mat. I used the liquid mist on a paintbrush, bumping up the shine even more with some Lindys magical micas in pink and copper. The bling eye has just a tiny drop of white dimensional paint to give it a little life. I created the base with a clear embossing resist, using a Tattered Angels stamp, and then coloring it with Iced Spruce ink.
The flowers are a combination of Tim Holtz's tattered florals. I inked the edges with Victorian Velvet, dabbed the edges with Glossy Accents, and then sprinkled them with glitter.
The layout itself is the left side of a double, whose RIGHT side is still sitting on my desk.
I've also uploaded a close up of my little bird embellishment if you want to get a closer peek at it. It was SO fun to create!
