Should make a great planter. We have a problem with our bird baths getting too warm even though they are under a massive tree. Generally refill them 2 - 3 times a day in summer. :)

Wicked cool shot. You could try putting pebbles on the bottom under the soil instead of drilling holes in it.

mini #3 resolution

I resolve to turn this birdbath into a nice looking planter come Spring. I failed to cover it and of course it filled with water and froze. It was in bad shape prior to Winter though, the coating was flaking off. With the winds as strong as they were yesterday it had no hope. There was a part rusted through inside that held all the pieces together. I think I'll use some silicon to piece it back together and make it a two tier planter. That is if I can drill drainage holes in it without it cracking.
