This is a (rare for me) 2 pager I did using the Basic Grey sketch found here http://blog.basicgrey.com/?p=3393

These are pics of dd playing on her scooter on our driveway in 2009.
I tried to do this in a style that matched my dd's personality at the time. People often said about her, "She dresses like a girl, but plays like a boy", so I combined the 'stronger' blacks and purples with the pastels and I used bees instead of butterflies.

My large circle is made from an oversized sticker. I added the round alpha stickers and separated each word with pearls. For the last word of the title, I painted a large grungeboard "R" with glossy black paint and then used houndstooth checked chipboard alphas.
On the bee pp, I lightly traced over the outlines with a white pen to slightly soften the look. I also stamped small flowers in some of the 'blank' spaces on the bee pp and added a tiny pearl to the center of the flower. I selected the white borders at the bottom because their shapes reminded me of the movements/paths of the scooter when she rides it. I chose the pink flowers, because they remind me of dogwood blossoms that we have on the trees in the springtime.
