what a lovely and very special lo. love that you matched the colors, pp and embellies to your DD's personality. Loved reading our description regarding how this lo all came together and what inspired you to choose the embellies. WONDERFULLY done.
This is a (rare for me) 2 pager I did using the Basic Grey sketch found here http://blog.basicgrey.com/?p=3393
These are pics of dd playing on her scooter on our driveway in 2009. I tried to do this in a style that matched my dd's personality at the time. People often said about her, "She dresses like a girl, but plays like a boy", so I combined the 'stronger' blacks and purples with the pastels and I used bees instead of butterflies.
My large circle is made from an oversized sticker. I added the round alpha stickers and separated each word with pearls. For the last word of the title, I painted a large grungeboard "R" with glossy black paint and then used houndstooth checked chipboard alphas. On the bee pp, I lightly traced over the outlines with a white pen to slightly soften the look. I also stamped small flowers in some of the 'blank' spaces on the bee pp and added a tiny pearl to the center of the flower. I selected the white borders at the bottom because their shapes reminded me of the movements/paths of the scooter when she rides it. I chose the pink flowers, because they remind me of dogwood blossoms that we have on the trees in the springtime.
