Hi ladies! Thanks for all your lovely comments... I have indeed been gone awhile, due to the fact that my sweet son Miles (who has a rare genetic syndrome, autism, CP and epilepsy) was having major surgery to correct a defect in his legs and hips. He has had 2 of the 4 surgeries, andis doing very well... It's just a lot of work for his Mama! Anyway, if you are interested, my blog has some of the details of that, as well as more info on this layout! Thanks again for all of your wonderful comments! My blog: DizzyBlondDesigns.blogspot.com
I have been missing your work as you haven't posted in a while. I hope is well with you. This is a beautiful lo & the background paper is so old fashion looking, almost like the wallpaper on my grandma's old house...memories! Thanks for sharing about your GGM. My I ask how you do the paper coming down from the photo? Great look & all of it is wonderfully done!:)
The pic is of my sister, Erika, when she was about 4 years old... our great grandmother was a huge part of our lives growing up, and she always wore a sunbonnet when she was outside. She was born in 1890, and told us she never went outside without one when she was a girl. She made sunbonnets for all of us girls and we happily wore them! She also was a great gardener... even though we grew up in the Mojave Desert, she managed to have a beautiful garden. She loved periwinkles and marigolds, and I always think of her when I see them somewhere. In this picture, my sister is eating a cookie in front of Baw-Baw's house, where one of the gardens was.
