Our taxi driver then drove us from the cemetery to the citadel just in time to see and hear the old cannon (from the 1700's) go off at noon. We watched them shoot it but all we could really see was a lot of smoke after firing. Then we watched the changing of the guards (a re-enactment by college students wearing full time-period guard costume) and walked through the inside of the fort and then the top part along the wall surrounding the citadel.
The Citadel is a star-shaped fort built in 1749.
