Well, no one would know that you struggled with this one, if you hadn't told us ;) I think we all have those projects that just frustrate us, but you pulled it off beautifully with those DA pieces, butterfly wings and FAB panels!
No way?! I was on a roll with comments & then it stopped working again....
2nd time lucky (please). What first struck me are the stunning panels around sides & underneath, then the butterfly wings. Beautiful sunset colours with pops of turquoise in the chippies & stencil work. Great stitching & ppr techniques.
Bless you, I so understand the frustration & wanting to move on to next.... :))
Pretty shades of orange - love the frame behind the pic - very pretty blue flourishes, gems & tiny metal flowers on the frame. Wonderful mix of techniques with lots of shimmer and textures.
This is very pretty, Melissa. I love the colours, photo, butterfly wings, texture, and the title work. This is one of my favourites of your layouts, and I don't know what there is not to like about it. I has nice composition to it and is well arranged. It's beautiful!
Don't think these is anything to not like - this is gorgeous - your techniques are always so artistic - I can appreciate all the work you put into this creation ~
It's funny how we can start with one idea, and end up with something totally different! So glad you included the photo! Such a beautiful sunset and beautiful sunset colors around it! The chippies are beautiful. I bet all these gorgeous colors look amazing IRL. Love the butterfly wings too!
I know this one was making you crazy, but I think it turned out great1 I love the way the tree branches look on the watercolour parts, and the beads & DA match it perfectly. The butterfly wings are such a creative touch, and I like the light background you decided to go with! The beautiful results were worth all the trouble!
I clicked on it for a close up and it was clear as a bell!! Gorgeous photo and page; love how you perfectly mimicked the colours in the photo...your chippies and their finish are awesome!
I love the lightness to this! Those panels around the photo are amazing and highlights the photo so well! Plus the way the photo seems to pop off the page is wonderful!
I think this is stunning and showcases your photo beautifully! I love those 3 pieces around the photo and the butterfly wings. I've had lo experiences like that too. I started a page for a young, vibrant, engaged couple that turned out to be a vintage page of my grandmother!!! LOL
I had to use my new camera on this because the old one wouldn't work. This has too many pixels. When you click on this for a close up, it looks blurry. Im going to put close up photos on my blog.
This started out as a small fall watercolor. It changed into a Halloween page with a black bg, but I just didn't like how dark the page looked. Now its a beach page, lol. I spent a very long time on this, and am giving up. Its time to move on to a different page, another photo.
The earring at the lower left is from my sis, and so are the butterfly wings. Theyre from a greeting card she gave me to use on a page. I did a lo in the past of a pic from the same batch. I actually wanted to just post the watercolor parts that are around the photo, but I thought, nah, photos are nice too. My initial inspiration for the watercolor was from watching Contadina K's video of painting a still life of grapes. Before I put the texture paste on , it was an abstract of tree branches with leaves. The stenciled tree I think, the colors , just sparkle against the orange. The dusty attic I thought came out pretty. I did however put gesso on the da before I removed it from the surrounding chipboard , and it got torn up. I would have ripped it up anyway but it was kind of sad to see, lol! Im not going to say what I really don't like about this, because then everyone will probly focus on it,lol. Products I used include jacquard mica powders, lumiers, twinkling h2os,acrylic silks, winton and lewis watercolors. The da started out purple , when this was a Halloween page. It was so pretty against a black bg. And the watercolor parts here , and the butterflies popped against the black. The photo looked great too. I may just put all this stuff on ...I was going to say black ppr but ide have to change the da back to purple. Lol.
