I made this layout in August 2013, the birth month of my dear mother who passed away in April 2013. I really miss her still and when I created this LO I was really thinking a lot of her. This 1947 photo shows my Mom on the right side at age 17, a friend in the center and Mom's older sister (my dear Aunt Dee Dee) on the left side. Isn't this just a wonderful photo of these teenagers all dressed up and posing on top of a car? I absolutely LOVE Mom and Aunt Dee Dee's high heeled shoes - especially Mom's because hers are baby doll style. I think this photo is awesome! BTW, Gueydan is a country town with a short main street where all intersecting streets are numbered like 1st St., 2nd St., etc. You blink and you are out of this tiny town. It is in a very southern part of Louisiana and is known as the 'Duck Capital' because the ducks from up north migrate all the way to the Gulf of Mexico in and around the Gueydan, La. area. This tiny town was established in 1902.
The main page is in the Heartfelt Creations 'Countryside Evening' collection. I hand punched the paper doily under the photo. All pink 'dots' that look like stick on pearls are actually Liquid Pearls. I dry acrylic painted some areas of the piece of burlap with a vanilla color to make it look 'used'. The corner chipboard is a piece I cut from a larger one by Dusty Attic; then inked it and embellished with flowers from Michael's. The title is stick on letters from Webster's pages. I just love this photo and decided to share it. Thanks so much for viewing my layout and have a great day! Lisa :)
