What a nice tribute to your fil. I'm so sorry he passed away. Your LO is amazing and since you told us that all the symbols mean something special, it makes it more amazing.
It's awesome. Sorry for the loss. You asked about our trip. It is 1200 miles from our WV home to Minneapolis. Ohio and Indiana are boring. Farmland in Illinois (stay away from Chicago) and Wisconsin are pretty:) Have a good week.
OMGosh! What a thoughtful, beautiful tribute to your FIL! I'm so sorry for your loss, but hope that your family will find comfort in this beautiful lo. I love everything about it and love all of the special meanings!
love how the items you used all had a symbolic meaning; I'm sure Rich will love having this hanging in his room to remind him of special times he and his dad shared.
Oh my goodness Melissa, this is amazing! I can see all the things that were special to him, and your DH~ And it is so beautifully done; such a masculine l/o , I love the deep distressing -what a wonderful tribute~
what a wonderful tribute to your FIL and what a great idea to frame it for your DH. I love that you were able to include bits and pieces that had meaning to your FIL - a great way to keep his memory alive close. Love all that you've done here.
Nice keepsake for your hubby! I like that compass a lot and the fact that you used items that had meaning to your father-in-law on this project. Sorry for your loss.
Very lovely tribute to your FIL! Love how you treated the chipboard! The embellishments you added are very interesting. It will look so beautiful in the frame! Very sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers.
Beautiful tribute page using all the things that were of important interest to your DH Dad. Even down to the Swedish wrapping paper. There will be so many memorable things for your DH to see putting it all into a frame to hang in his study. So very sorry for your loss.
What a stunning tribute! I think it is wonderful that Rich picked out his favorite photo and that you added so many symbolic embellies! How special that it will hang in your hubby's study! Beautifully done! I am so sorry for your loss! Hugs to you and your family!!
Hi everyone. Melissa here with a 12x12 layout using Gina's Designs Lasercuts. This photo is taken in the ghost town of Bodie, California . Bodie produced more than $35 million in gold and silver.
My Father-In-Law passed away on May 28th, 2014. This is a tribute page about him that I made for my husband, Rich. I am going to put it into a scrapbook frame for him to put in his study here at home. Rich picked out the photo , it's his favorite one of the two of them.
Everything on the page is symbolic of Einar and his interests in life. There is hidden journaling written on canvas on a tag. The images are from Swedish wrapping paper I've saved from Christmas gifts from him.
Here are the items I used from my scrappy friends here at sb.com: all paper from 48SixTime,they're from UHK gallery, and called Winter is Coming. Gold cross from CindyJK, and white resin door and small metal square at lower right corner, from SheliaMarie. Thank you ladies, for your generosity!
There are close ups and what all the symbols stand for on my blog melissalarson57.blogspot.com . I wrote a lot there, and it is a celebration of his life, his interests, and his hobbies.
