The journaling reads; I know what a unlikely thing to be inspired by! But I will take it anywhere I can get it (inspiration that is). You see I have always wanted a pond. I spent many long hours designing it in my head. So when we finally became home owners a neighbor finally got tired of hearing about this fictitious pond of mine and dropped a liner off in my driveway one day. And that was the beginning of it all! After weeks of digging and chopping my way thru roots, leveling and backfilling, I finally had a hole in the ground filled with water! Far from the grand multi-leveled master piece with the meandering stream and waterfall pond I had dreamed up. But a young girl I worked with saw the excitement I felt about my puddle and showed up at my house one day with a bag of water. Inside the water was a bullfrog tadpole. “WOW that’s the biggest tadpole I have ever seen” I exclaimed and ran to add the life to my pond. What an inspiration that frog (Jeremiah) was. I sleep with my windows opened every chance I get just to hear him sing (much to the chagrin of my neighbors ). As he called for and received a mate my population of frogs grew and so did my pond. I am up to two levels now with my stream and a small waterfall, I also have many species of frogs and toads. I have added turtles, fish and even newts. But its definitely the frogs that inspire me to keep going, They call to me through my open windows at night “we need more water” and so another level is planned!
