When I read about the fiber challenge, for some reason, I didn't think about fabric or wool , I thought of the birds I see in spring, building their nests with small twigs and pieces of straw or string so I decided to go that route for this card. The background is made with a Hero Arts large background stamp of trees, stamped in white, on kraft paper, and embossed with clear powder. I went back with a grey Copic marker to darken some of the breaks in the tree, to give the impression of white birches with the black patches in their bark. The bottom panel is a piece of grass cloth, the kind used for covering walls or sometimes for the covers of decorative books. I bent and twisted the top half inch or so to make it stand out and give it a more ‘wild’ look. The bird is from a set of clear bird stamps by Martha Stewart, coloured with Copics.I cut a slit in the birds beak and pulled a few strands of twine through. The little bird house is from an inexpensive Recollections stamp.
