For the GG challenge to use bold patterned paper. I used two bold papers (the background and the one under the title), then matted the photos on a calming white so they would pop a bit. I also used neutral-ish cards for the journalling. Inking all the edges really helped it come together. This is also for the 213 in 2013 prompt to scraplift yourself. I chose to lift this layout of mine:http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/gallery/member/110614-paperclips29/1860474-go-magpies/ [twopeasinabucket.com]I didn't have any photos of us playing croquet, but I did have a couple of photos of their back garden. I wanted to capture this story because after 8 years this is still a joke that gets bantered back and forth. (And will go in my album next to a layout with a photo of the four of us together on that trip.)Journalling reads: As we had our evenings free, Barb and Pete suggested we have a go at one of their favourite pastimes – croquet. They have an area in their back garden that is perfect for croquet, other than a minimal grade upwards towards the hedge. We learned the basic rules and methods and had a really great time. On one of the evenings whilst playing my ball was a fair ways down the slope and the wicket was up near the hedge. Peter told me just to hit the ball as hard as I could. I hesitated, but he insisted. Wham! That ball flew up the hill and shot straight through the hedge into the adjoining field. Joey and Peter climbed over the fence in search of the ball, but after half an hour of scouring, but it wasn't to be found. Upon reappearing in the garden Peter mentioned that this was the first time they'd ever had this happen, and I reminded Peter he did say “as hard as you can”. They found the wayward ball the following day so we were able to play again. On more than one occasion Peter said “hit it hard, but not too hard”, and we instituted a guard along the hedge just in case it happened a second time.
