My dog daisy was my constant companion growing up. This is a tribute to her. She was always there to hear about my day and was always happy while I chattered away. I could tell her my troubles and fears and she wouldn't judge me. I could lay my head on her side and cry into her fur is I needed to. We got her when I was about two or three and so I don't really remember my early childhood without her. I can remember on one of her first car trips to my grandparents that she got sick in the car. Luckily, she loved car trips after that. She would want to smell the fresh air and would fight to get at the window I was sitting at as well as her own. We would always fight over space in the back seat on long trips. Eventually, we would end up with part of her on top of my lap. In the winter we would always spend long period of time playing in the snow. She loved to eat the snow and just be outside with me while I might build a snowman. When I was in elementary school I got to walk Daisy by myself. While she yank Dad down the road shewas always more gentle with me. I think she knew my strength and was careful with me. Daisy loved to eat tomatoes, boiled eggs, and Tootsies Rolls. We didn't realize that you shouldn't feed her chocolate until she was much older. At that point, we couldn't stand todeprive her. When we had a garden we worried she would get into the tomatoes but she didn't have any interest until they were cut open. Then her nose was right at the counter-top.
