In the ABC challenge, Debbi T challenges us to do scrapbook pages on the topics of summer and school. Put the two words together and you have “summer school,” something I'm very glad I didn't have to go to the summer after eighth grade, when something very bad happened to some of the kids in my town who did. I mentioned my hometown in central California on Facebook when I went back for a visit over Thanksgiving weekend, and sure enough one of my friends had to mention THAT. This friend has lived in the Midwest almost her entire life and that's what she knows about my town. So I decided to do a LO about it. This striped paper is old SEI vellum, underneath on the front of the white paper behind it, I wrote a whole 12 x 12 page about what happened and how it affected me as one of the kids back home waiting for the affected kids' safe return.
