the journaling reads “After saving for 3 years, we were finally able to go back to Woolgoolga for a family holiday.John had been ill for the 2 weeks before we left (we thought he had a stomach virus) He was sick, in pain and had lost so much weight,I wanted to cancel or at least post-pone our holiday, but John insisted that we go.We arrived in Woolgoolga on December 22nd and after much debating, I finally convinced him to go to hospital on Christmas Eve.Three days of tests, research and discussion, John was finally diagnosed with a blood disorder called myeloproliferitive disorder~ (he had a clot between the liver and spleen)So, instead of spending the 3 weeks catching up with family and friends, John spent the whole time in hospital and I spent it visiting him.John was only allowed out for a few hours on Christmas day so he could join the family for lunch.Thankfully Debbie and Tanya looked after Dylan and Jessica and made sure they were having fun.NOT the holiday we had planned at all.”Woolgoolga December 2006 – January 2007
