I made this note card for my WSW13 Read All About it challenge. It didn't turn out quite like I planned, but I'm ok with it. I stamped the solid green leaves with paint, thinking they would be opaque. But, I used Claudine Hellmuth studio paint, which I forgot is transparent! Oh well. They weren't showing up that well so I outlined them with the black pen.Since I didn't get my contrast between opaque and transparent that I had set out for, I went with matte and shimmery. The Silks Acrylic Glazes are nice and shimmery. I messy colored the flower details with matte Sakura Souffle pen. I painted the blue mat layer to match the flower centers. I'm really loving the Silks Acrylic Glaze! It's paint, so it covered the color completely, but it's very light, not stiff like paint and I can still see the texture of the cardstock (it was the front of a DCWV card). The blue mat is layered on a kraft card, which is a little hard to see in the photo. I thought kraft matched the old dictionary paper best.I was introduced to Silks at an Art Journaling class. I'll post the pages we made soon. Stamps : Autumn LeavesInk : Adirondack Archival Jet BlackPaint : Claudine Hellmuth Studio semigloss acrylic, LuminArte Silks Acrylic GlazePens : Sakura Souffle, Uniball Signo black outlining.TFL! I hope you'll try some stamping on text this week!(I wish I spent a little more time planning out the flower placement, I covered “grow” and left “gross” staring out in the open, haha!)
