I would like to credit the author/illustrator of the book that inspired me to begin this set of ATCs. There will be twelve when I am finished, because there are 12 lines in this old rhyme about crows. Although the author of the original poem is not known, the author/artist of the illustrated book is Heidi Holder. The pictures are just beautiful. The rhyme is mostly illustrated with Crows, Weasels, and Minks. I learned that the original folk tale is from England, and was about Magpies. When the settlers came to America, there were not many Magpies, so they applied their folklore to the Crow. Each group of crows has its own symbol and significance.
