OMG that poster is to die for! I bet everyone was bidding for it! Love it and I love the LO. The little people at the bottom are a great representation of that fantastic community you have at that school. You and your DD are very lucky.
Impressive donation, it certainly gives the kids a lesson in service. It's wonderful that your d/d has this opportunity. Really cute (and funny) two-pager.
You should like this! I don't do a lot of white backgrounds but I really like this one. the little people border and touch of flowers is perfect. What fun photos to scrap. They should of made the title to the movie post Nuccio's Thirteen...that's perfect!
My dd went to a very small school for K-8, and for 7th grade, her combined 6th-7th class had a total of 13 kids in it, 6 7th graders and 7 6th graders. For the school's annual black tie fundraiser, the class donation up for bid in the silent auction was service time. To have something tangible to go along with it, they posed for a cute photo around a conference table that was inspired by the movie posters for Ocean's Thirteen. They had the photo made into a poster and signed and framed it. These pics are from the day the finished product was delivered to school for them to see. The parent who brought it took a bunch of funny photos of them having fun with their teacher, Mr. Nuccio. So, that's the background story.
Journaling says: The finished Ocean's Thirteen poster to go with the 6th-7th grade Gala donation of service time arrived today, giving the class a chance to monkey around with Mr. Nuccio.
This is my example for my August Four Categories Challenge - Category Three ~ Technique: Stamping. I stamped the journaling arrow and the date, March 09, 2010. The twist is to emboss at least one of the stamped designs: I stamped and embossed the flowers. Then, I colored them with water color pencils.
This is for the August Music Challenge - Artist. My title includes part of the name of the band Thirteen Days.
Also, for the VLB Challenge to try a new technique. Although I have used my water color pencils once before, I only used one color to shade a bg. What was new for me this time was layering and blending the colors and adding dry pencil while the paper was wet to intensify the color in parts of the designs.
And the August Stamping Challenge.
