great photos- what an awesome adventure- we did the Polar Express in Chattanooga during Christmas (at night) and a story teller told the story of the Polar Express to all the kids. I love trains.
I have always wanted to go on a steam locomotive and have never done that! How cool! I can tell from you photos that the fall foliage was beautiful - perfect time of year for this trip! You color choices are perfect for this one - the orange goes so well with the colors in your photos. Love the building with the American flag!
I am so glad to see a steam locomotive as I love historical items and the stories they tell. I will be making some lo's of the Mt. Washington Cog Railroad also with wonderful history. I couldn't ride up to the top because of my oxygen, but it was interesting anyway as they all loved it.
Journaling reads: On Sunday October 12, we went on a steam locomotive excursion on The Lehigh Gorge Railway. We started in the very small town of Port Clinton, PA and travelled to our destination in Jim Thorpe, PA named for the sports hero who never lived there but was buried there. Along the way we passed small towns at every railroad crossing there were people with their cameras and tripods taking pictures of the train. We saw beautiful fall foliage, pumpkin patches and even a Christmas tree farm. After 4 hours in Jim Thorpe we began the return trip. For volume challenge, and 52 weeks (October with a fall theme). Also for Book of Me.
